A lifelong resident of South Kingstown, she was a daughter of Dorcas (Randall) Brown of Peace Dale and the late Fred W. Brown.
She was employed at the University of Rhode Island for 12 years before she retired in 1982.
Besides her mother, she leaves a son, Richard Nutting Brown of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; a daughter, Dawn Cookinham of Brookfield, Conn.; five brothers, Dale and Russell Brown, both of Wakefield, Donald Brown of North Kingstown, Robert Brown of Coventry and Michael Brown of Narragansett; a sister, Sue Ann Kresinski of North Kingstown; and five grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Richard and Beverly Brown, Beryl Toth and Gail Phillips.
The funeral service was held in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., South Kingstown. Burial was private.
