Alice M. Andersen, age 84, of Walcott, IA, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Manor Care Health Services, Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., at Calvary United Methodist Church, Walcott. Memorial Donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, Walcott in her memory. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their loving care provided to Alice.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Walcott. The officiant will be Pastor Connie Markle. Musical selections will be provided by organist Dorothy Gibson and vocalist Henry Bentley Interment will take place at the Walcott Cemetery, Walcott, Iowa.
Alice Marie Atchley was born February 3, 1922, to Sam and Alva (Shafor) Atchley in St. Croix, Wisconsin. She married Wallace L. Andresen on January 13, 1945, in Middletown, OH. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2005. During WWII she worked for Aeronica Aeronotics in Middletown, OH, as a welder. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Walcott, the Walcott American Legion Auxilliary and QC Times Plus 60 Club. She enjoyed gardening, birds and flowers. Above all she enjoyed her family and the time she spent with them.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol (Ken) Germain of Davenport; one son, Tom (Sunnie) Andresen of Walcott; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel Freeman of Trenton, OH.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Atchley, her mother and stepfather, Alva and John VanGorder, her husband, Wallace Andresen, her daughter, Cheryl Andresen, her granddaughter, Heather Germain, her twin brothers, Bob and Dick VanGorder, and her sisters, Evelyn Atchley and Gwen Smith.
