Dixie Dawn Porter (66) passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday April 14, 2012.
Born to Herman and Alta "Mace" Andregg. Her father, Herman, often said that the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was nothing like the bomb that was dropped on August 6, 1945 in Pocatello, Idaho. Dixie spent most of her life on the family farm off Mace lane on Eagle Island.
After a few tries, Dixie found the love of her life 'Charlie Porter' and they were married Dec 6, 1980 and spent the next 31 years enjoying each other and family.
Together they raised a combined family of five children, Tony (Steph), Tim (Tracy), Diana, Tamy and Kevin (Whitney). Dixie found her greatest accomplishments were in her grandchildren, Anita, Kyla, Paige, Jakob, Emily, Charlie, Christen, Ryan, India, Andrew, Tucker and Hallie.
She is survived by her husband. Charlie; five children; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Karen) Andregg, of Spokane Valley; and nieces and nephews, Bruce (Carole), Doni (Wendy), Lynda and Michelle.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Alta Andregg.
Services will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church 1855 N Blackcat Rd. in Meridian, Saturday April 21st, at 2:00 PM.
