Lula Sophia Larsen was born on August 30, 1887 in Cleveland, Idaho. Her father, James (Jens) Larsen and mother, Mette (Cathren or Catherine) Hansen (Casperson) emigrated to America from Denmark in 1877. Lula had five sisters: Ana Dorthea, Catherine, Dorothy (just recently found on the 1880 US Census record...it looks like she died in childhood), Carrie and Medy Myriah. She also had two brothers: James and Joseph.

Lula met Roy Casper Andreasen in their LDS home ward after Roy had begun attending college in Logan, Utah. They were married on November 14, 1907 and were sealed in the Logan Temple soon after.

Roy and Lula had eight children, three girls and five boys: Owen Lavor, Maynard LeRoy, Theo Rupert (who died of appendicitis at 8 1/2 years), Ruby Cathrine, Dee Lloyd, Grace DeVone, Norma Voloy, and Max Wayne. Five of the children served full-time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

On 11 March 1960, Roy passed. His personal history is very interesting and shows a man who was humble and worked very hard. He was 70 years old. Lula lived for 15 years more, joining her husband on 22 June 1975. I was just six years old at the time and remember only little bits of our visits to see her. She was my maternal great grandmother, Owen being my mother's father. She was a good and kind person who was tough and no-nonsense. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.
