Amelia Anderson, 88, of Fergus Falls MN, died Sunday,
May 24, 2009, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

Amelia was born on July 30, 1920, in Orwell Township, the daughter of Paul and Betsy (Christopherson) Weinrich. She grew up in that community and also attended school there.

In 1939 Amelia married Frank Rowe. They lived on a farm in rural Ashby until 1965. Amelia taught Sunday School at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashby for many years and also worked as a cook at the City Restaurant.
In 1965, they moved to Fergus Falls and in 1970 Frank passed away. While in Fergus Falls, Amelia cooked at various restaurants including Skogomo's Cafe, Highway Host, The Elks, and The Holiday Inn.

In l974 Amelia married Alfred Anderson and they resided in Fergus Falls until she passed away. Amelia and Alfred enjoyed traveling to the Colorado Rockies, Texas, California, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York and Mexico.
Amelia enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidery, jigsaw puzzles, flower gardening, and latch-hooking. Her favorite flowers were yellow roses.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred Vernell Anderson of Fergus Falls; five children: Annette (Wally) Aagren of Fergus Falls, Robert (Judy) Rowe of Brooklyn Park, Francis (Elaine) Rowe of Poway, Calif., Marilyn Nagel of Fergus Falls, and Richard (Magalie) Rowe of Merrimac, NH; five stepchildren: Stanley (Debbie) Anderson, Linda (Jerry) Platow, Tim Anderson, Susan (Tony) Goad, and Julie (Jesse) Swenson; 17 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; 13 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, La Verne (George) Tenneson of Fergus Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
Amelia will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Preceding Amelia in death were her parents; an infant brother; her sister, Bernice (Weinrich) Bjorgo of Fergus Falls; two stepchildren; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Rairdon.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, resuming one hour prior to the service at the church

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Friday at First United Church of Christ
