Burton E. Anderson, age 87, died September 28, 2011. He was born May 13, 1924, in Ludington, to Edwin O. and Evelyn (Carlson) Anderson, and graduated from Ludington High School in 1942. He proudly served in the US Army in Europe during World War II. Burton married Barbara A. Hamilton on September 4, 1948., Burton worked in automobile body repair for 40 years, working for Benedict's Auto Body Shop, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Ludington and a member of Ludington American Legion Post #76. Burton was an avid outdoorsman, favoring fishing and hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; who he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Richard Lee, and his sister Arlene, as well as numerous brothers-in-law and sisters in law.

Burton is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons, Edwin Anderson of Southgate, James (Alice) Anderson and Robert (Connie) Anderson, both of Ludington; 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson, Michelle (Mike) Palma of Rockford, Kimberly (Matt) Johnson of Ludington, Rebecca (Scott) Perysian of Scottville, Jennifer Anderson of Ludington, Jamie Anderson of Grandville, Lisa (Derek) Weurding of Matawan, and Shane Wardlow of Ludington. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Zack & Riley Perysian, Anika Weurding and Michael Palma, his brother-in-law, Frank Hamilton, and several nieces & nephews.
