Mr. Anderson died Monday at Hopkins County Hospital in Madisonville after a four-month illness. The body is at Adams and Sons Funeral Home.
A Christian County native, he was born Dec. 25, 1908, the son of Simon and Lila Southall Anderson. He was a member of Freeman Chapel and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served as a city policeman for three years and as a radio disc jockey here for two years.
Mr. Anderson operated a cleaning service for a number of years and also had pastored at several churches in the area.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Kelly Anderson and eight sons, James L. of Washington, D.C., Ray A. Porter and Darrick L. all of Indianapolis, Ind., Rascoe of Germany, Willaim E. of Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md., and Larry and Job Anderson, both of this city; two daughters, Cecilia Lewis and Lila Wadlington, both of this city; and 12 grandchildren.
