A retired roadmaster for Texas Pacific Railroad, he passed away at 12:45 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 91 and a native of Aubrey, Texas. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from noon until religious services at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by Bill Brewer and Tim Richardson. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine A. and Ralph E. Ellis, Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, William R. Ellis and wife Michelle, Ellenwood, Ga., Deborah Stephens and husband Barry, Lubbock, Texas, Robert A. Ellis, Baton Rouge, and Charles R. Ellis and wife Dayna, Greenwell Springs; eight great-grandchildren, Scott, Aaron and Nick Ellis, Jennifer, Benjaminand Phillip Stephens and Jason and Joshua Ellis; and a brother, Orie R. Anderson, Denton, Texas. Preceded in death by his wife, Irma Acton Anderson; and his parents, Hiriam and Pearl Anderson. He was a member of Goodwood Church of Christ.
