Belleville (KS) Telescope - 29 Jun 1967, Obituary for Edna Mathilda Muth:

Edna Mathilda, daughter of Alfred and Ida Anderson, was born Jan. 31, 1892 at Scandia, Kan., and passed away June 18, 1967 at the Republic County hospital, Belleville, Kan., at the age of 75 years, four months and 18 days. Edna lived in Scandia all of her life.

She was united in marriage Dec. 25, 1910 to Henry Fulcomer. To this union were born two children, a son who died in infancy and a daughter, Maxine. Henry passed away in 1928.

On June 6 1931, she was married to Ray Muth, who also preceded her in death in 1956. Others preceding her in death were her parents, one brother, Charles Anderson; two sisters; Mabel Bedard and Ruby Othberg.

Survivors include her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Maxine (Anderson) Muth, Scandia; step-daughter, Mr. and Mr. Robert Flesher, Fall City, Neb., one brother Ed Anderson, Scandia; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Scandia, June 21 With Rev. Lee Dickey officiating. Mrs. Loren Isaacson
and Mrs. Everett Robinson sang her two favorite hymns. Casket
bearers were: James Muth, Roy Flesher, Norman Flesher, Virgil
Vesterberg, Merle Rakestraw and Harold Swartz.Interment was in the Riverview cemetery, Scandia.

1910: Edna was living on the farm with her father, Alfred (55) & her brother, Edward (25). Edna married Henry Fulcomer on Dec 25, 1910.

1920: Alfred (65), his son-in-law Henry Fulcomer (29) are co-owners of the farm. Also living on the farm are: Alfred's daughter Edna Fulcomer (28), grandaughter Maxine (7), son Edward (35) & grandaughter Beula (8). Edward is listed as a widower, due to the death of his wife, Minnie

1928: Henry Fulcomer (Edna's husband) died in 1928.

1929: Alfred died Nov 30, 1929. Edna inherited the farm.

1930: Edna (38) Alfred's daughter sold the farm and purchased a home on Washington St. in the city of Scandia. The home did not have a mortgage. Edna & her daughter Maxine (17) lived in the home & neither worked. It appears that they were financially stable.
