Johanna Mathilda Weeks
Johanna Mathilda was born in the Anders family home near Linkoping (Linköping), Sweden on the 3rd of July, 1868. She attended school grew to young womanhood in Sweden. At the age of 18 she came to live in A,erica and made her home in chicago, Illinois where she became the wife of Burr Weeks. Shortly after their marriage on January 1, 1891, they left Chicago to make their home in the pioneer community south of Buncker Hill. In the years that followed they lived in Oklahoma, Missouri, and on a farm near Brownell, Kansas before returning to Russell. Before death claimed the life of Mr. Weeks in 1941, they shared together the birth and guidance of four sons, two of whom also have passed away. For the past 18 years, Mrs. Weeks has lived with her sons and was residing at the home of her late son Henry at the time of her death. Enjoying good health throughout her live she quietly passed away Monday evening July 6, just three days after her 91st birthday.
Though her years number four score, then and one, she lived each day actively, accepting each task. This mother and grandmother shall always be remembered by those who loved and knew her so well. Survung her are sons, John of Ness City and thomas of Nyssa, Oregon, eighteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, other neat relatives and many friends. Preceeding her in death are her husband, and two sons, Henry and William.
