In 1857 George Anderson left Holanger, Norway and came to America. He first settled in Wisconsin and in 1859 in a oxen wagon he came to Kansas. He settled in the Norwegian settlement about 16 miles norwest of Eureka. He was a Civil War soldier. He married Helge Timine (Minnie) Johnson the daughter of Baeruld Johnson.
George and his family gave the land where the Upper Fall River Church and Cemetery now stand.

Whereas-it pleased Almighty God to call Comrade Anderson from this life to the Grand Army above.
Whereas: In the death of Comrade Anderson his family has lost a fond and loving father. The county an upright honorable and in every respect a first class citizen and Dick Yates Post a good and highly respected member.
Therefore "Be it resolve" That the bereaved children has deep heartfelt sympathy of this post.
Be it futher resolved, That a copy of these resolution be mailed to the family and a copy furnished each of the newspaper of this city.
