GLENDALE - Grace Anderson,91, of the Glendale community, died at 6:19 p.m. Monday evening, July 8, 2013, in Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare.

Services will be at noon Friday, July 12, in Glendale United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Golconda. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.

A resident of the Glendale community.

Passed away Monday evening, July 8, 2013, at 6:19 PM at the Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, Illinois.

Grace was born October 13, 1921 in Golconda, IL. She was the ninth of ten children born to Flavius and Kathryn (Hertter) Palmer.

Grace was united in marriage to Wallace Anderson on October 17, 1938. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1990.

Survivors include:

Her daughter – Charlotte Benard of the Glendale community
3 Grandchildren - Linda (Ivan) Chapman of Simpson, IL
Mike (Lisa) Benard of the Glendale community
Lisa Aly of Salem, IN
10 Great Grandchildren
5 Great-Great Grandchildren
2 Sisters-in-Law Mildred (Bill) Christoff of New Albany, IN
Lillian (the late Ben) Anderson of Decatur, IL
Several cousins, nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, Grace was preceded in death by her 4 brothers and 5 sisters. She was the last surviving sibling of her family. Having attained the age of 91 years, she had the distinction of having lived longer than any of her 9 brothers and sisters.

Grace was a homemaker. She cared for her three grandchildren in their pre-school days. Making her home with her daughter since 2009, she enjoyed being a part of fun-filled family gatherings. Grace was also a former member of the Home Bureau. She had served as a 4-H leader. In her spare time, Grace enjoyed completing crossword puzzles.

Grace was a member of the Glendale United Methodist Church, where she attended as long as her health permitted.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2013, at 12 Noon at the Glendale United Methodist Church. Rev. David Faulkner will officiate.

Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery at Golconda.

Visitation will be from 10 AM – 12 Noon Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Glendale United Methodist Church (Parsonage Fund), c/o Bill Ahrendt, 40 Poe Lane, Simpson, IL 62985.
