Bertha Anderson Peterson was born in Tiested, Denmark and died at her home in Kellogg, Iowa
Bertha Anderson and Martin Peterson were united in marriage March 9, 1884 and three days later they sailed for the United States to make their home.
They first located in Illinois and later came to Kellogg where they resided, and also at Malcom and Latimer.
Three children were born to them. Mrs. Garrett Poortinger and a son Louie Peterson of Kellogg. The other daughter, Mary C. Peterson died in 1901 and is buried in the same lot.
Bertha Anderson Peterson was a member of the Lutheran church, having been confirmed in that faith in Denmark in early childhood.
Martin was a retired farmer and died at the home of his son, Louie Peterson following an extended illness from a malignant disease. In early life, he was confirmed in the faith of the Lutheran church.
Mr. Peterson had crossed the ocean seven times during his life returning last
August from his last visit.

Martin was buried in the family lot in Our Silent City Cemetery.
There is no stone for him.
