Velma Shipley Anderson of Ringgold died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at her residence. She was 86.
She was a resident of the North Georgia and Chattanooga area for most of her life. She was a former employee of Sweetwater Rug Co., where she worked for five years, and was co-owner and operator of Anderson Dairy for 14 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Anderson; son, Vernon Anderson; parents, William and Maudie Hinds Shipley; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lesley and Freddie Anderson of Ringgold; daughter-in-law, Jackie Anderson of Ringgold; three sisters, Nonivee Gentry of Laurens, S.C., Betty Rackley of Hixson, Tenn., Pat Shavers of Pisgah, Ala.; brother, Earl Shipley of Ringgold; two grandsons, Samuel Anderson of Ringgold, Sgt. Michael Todd Anderson of Ringgold; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services: Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 4-8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
