Richard Hugh Anderson, 74, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at his residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. The Tattnall County native had lived in Massachusetts for many years, moving back to Tattnall County 15 years ago. He was a Navy veteran, and was retired from Paper Mills in Massachusetts. He is survived by four daughters: Marie Leblanc and Nancy Bilotta, both of Leominster, Massachusetts; Mary Ann Silva of Fitchburg, Massachusetts; and Joan Huss of Springfield, Massachusetts; two sons, John Anderson of Leominster and Richard Anderson, Jr., of Fitchburg; two sisters, Carolyn Whitfield of Reidsville, Georgia; and Fay Flowers of Savannah, Georgia; three stepbrothers: Louis Brown of Claxton, Georgia; Aubrey Brown of Ellabell, Georgia; and W. J. Akins of Reidsville; one stepsister, Loree Sapp of Reidsville; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Carter Funeral Chapel in Glennville, Georgia. Burial was in Bay Branch Church Cemetery.
