Thomas E. Anderson, 89 ENCINITAS/CARLSBAD -- Thomas E. Anderson passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Born August 19, 1919, in Warren, Ohio, he lived in Encinitas, Calif., for 31 years and most recent at La Costa Glen, Carlsbad, Calif., for the past six years. Mr. Anderson graduated from Manlius Military School, N.Y., Fowler High School, Ohio, and Youngstown State University with a Major in Accounting. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and is a veteran of WWII. He was a Lieutenant Commander of USS Frazier (DD607) and USS Woodworth (DD460). He earned 12 combat stars on his Pacific Theater Ribbon. After his military service, he worked for the accounting firm of Ernst & Young, and retired as Managing Partner after 31 years of service. He is a lifetime member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Anderson enjoyed fishing, investing, and reading. His favorite fishing place is North West Territory, Great Slave Lake in Canada. Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by the love of his life, Marilyn Hart Anderson, August 18, 2005. They were married for 62 years and will now be reunited. He is survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Terrie and Thomas Sargi of Kent, Ohio, Connie and Dale Walters of Naples, Fla., and Andrea and Kelly Revell of Carlsbad; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother, Windsor Anderson, Texas; sisters, Florence Allen of San Diego, Calif., and Claribel Greenwood of Ohio. A funeral service is scheduled for 1pm, Thurs., May 7, at Eternal Hills Chapel, 1999 El Camino Real in Oceanside. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. After the service, a "Celebration of Life" gathering will be hosted at La Costa Glen for all. The family suggests donations to San Diego Hospice.
