Funeral service for Superintendent Doyle Anderson, 67 of Sweeny will be Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church, 611 Webster Dr., Henderson, Texas with Bishop Prince E. W. Bryant, Sr. of Texas South Central Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ of Houston eulogizing. Burial will follow at Crow Cemetery in Henderson, Texas.
He passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Angleton Danbury Medical Center in Angleton, Texas surrounded by his loving family.
He was the Pastor of Evangelist Temple No. 2 in Bay City, Texas, Superintendent of Bay City District and Chairman of Ordination Board for Texas South Central. He served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked at Dow Chemical Company for 30 plus years as a supervisor before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and spending quality time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Corine Anderson, brothers, Tommy Anderson, C.L. Anderson, Howard Anderson, Northe Carey and Wayne Anderson, sisters, Lairlene Anderson, Dorothy Mitchell, Betty Blackshire and grandchildren, Aubrey Wayne Anderson and Kenneth Ray Jones, Jr.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 49 years, Missionary Dorothy Anderson of Sweeny, son, Anthony Anderson and fiancée Jana Saia of Clute, daughter, Rita Jones and husband Kenneth, Sr. of Austin, brother, Henry Lee Carey of Seattle, Washington, sisters, Mary Hutchinson and Joyce Edwards both of Nacogdoches, brother-in-laws, Henry Horton of Sweeny, Leroy Horton and wife Helen of Tyler, Frank Horton, Jr. and wife Carolyn of Angleton and Larry Horton and wife Catherine of Pasadena, sister-in-laws, Novella Walker, Myra Davis and Marlene Wyche all of Tyler and Delores Morgan of California, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Henry Horton, Jr., Tony Walker, Tyrone Carey, Leroy "Bockey" Horton and Sanford Jr. Brown.
Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Smith, Henry Horton, Frank Horton, Larry Horton, Henry Lee Carey and Lonnie Ray Horton.
Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Evangelist Temple II, 721 Austin Street, Bay City, Texas. A wake service will follow from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m
