Graveside services for Mrs. Vyda Carter Anderson, 85, of Granville, TN were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2001 at the Granville Cemetery in Granville, TN with Bro. Comer McGuire officiating. Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the services.
Mrs. Anderson passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at the McKendree Village Retirement Community in Hermitage, TN.
Born January 24, 1916, in Jackson County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Fannie Roberts Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Finis A. Anderson who passed away April 1, 1971; four brothers, Farmer Carter, Mack Carter, J.N. Carter and Malcolm Carter and one sister, Emma Carter.
She was a member of the Granville United Methodist Church in Granville, TN and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired school teacher having taught for over 35 years.
Survivors included one daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and David Canfield of Old Hickory, TN; one brother, Alton Carter of Granville, TN; one sister Marie Pharris of Granville/Gallatin, TN; two grandchildren, Brian Canfield and Scott Canfield.
