MURPHYSBORO — Floyd Samuel Anderson, 59, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 1999, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Funeral services will be at 11 am. Wednesday at Pettett Funeral Home, with the Revs. Richard Pierce and Darrell Neathery officiating. Burial will be in Murdale Gardens of
Memory. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation.

Mr. Anderson was a carpenter by trade, but 27 years ago he started Anderson Furniture in Murphysboro.

He had been attending the Mount Carbon Christian Church in Murphysboro.

He was a veteran, serving in both the Army and Air Force during the Vietnam conflict.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 127, the Eagles, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7190 and the Moose Lodge.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1939, in Blairsville to Sam and Valena (Jarvis) Anderson.

He married Audrey Doren on Dec. 9, 1968, in Benton. She survives.

Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Judy Chewning of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Gary Crow, Barbara and Daniel Reardon, all of Murphysboro, and Brenda and Ted Uran of Tempe, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Garrett Crow, Amanda Crow, Autumn Griffin, Caleb Ward, Colin Reardon, Britton Reardon and Dalton Chewning; three brothers, Carl Jarvis, Don Anderson, both of Carterville, and Paul Jarvis Jr. of Zeigler; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and one aunt, Violet Parrish of Carbondale.

His parents and one sister, Florence Gould preceded him in death.
