Clarence 'Andy' Lynn Anderson, 88, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Weiser Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1918 in McHenry, Illinois, to John Albin and Anna Bohlin Anderson. He married Harriet Christiansen on June 5, 1943, at Medford, Ore. He served with the 91st Infantry Division during WW II later transferring to the Air Corp where he flew as a bombardier in the South Pacific, flying supplies to the prisoners of war in Japan after the surrender. Returning to his home town he was employed by the Jewel Tea Co. in Barrington, Ill. Moving to the Ontario area in 1947, Andy was employed for a time with Hollingsworth. He joined the US Bank in 1949, holding the office of Assistant Manager, retiring in 1982. He held the office of President of the Toastmaster Club and Rotary Club. Andy also was Treasurer of the March of Dimes. He was Mayor of Fruitland, Idaho from 1967 to 1971. He is a member of the General Church of the New Jerusalem of Bryn Athyn, Pa. Andy was an avid golfer and loved to share this game with anyone at anytime. Among his survivors are his wife, Harriet; two daughters, Linda Anderson of Boise and Kathleen Houghton (Jim) of Boise, and one son, Tom (Margie) Anderson of Weiser; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser.
