RUPERT – Frank Ottis Anderson, age 78, of Rupert, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, returned to our loving Father in Heaven on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.

Ottis was born on June 20, 1934, in Burley, Idaho. He was the fourth child born to Frank Oscar and Amy Smith Anderson.

On Aug. 3, 1952, Ottis married his high school sweetheart, LaRene Broadhead. They spent the next 60 years together raising their family.

Ottis spent 24 years serving in the National Guard and loved the experiences he had with his men.

Ottis was a hard worker and loved working with his hands. One of his greatest loves was working in the Scouting program. He spent 34 years teaching and leading numerous young men. He completed the Wood Badge training and was awarded Scout Leader of the Year and also received an award of merit. His final accomplishment in the Scouting program was being awarded the Silver Beaver Award.

He was an avid bowler and enjoyed many years of bowling with his family and friends. He loved hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, LaRene; three daughters: Alicia (Robert) Bywater, Kathy (Jerry) Uker and Diana (Kendall) Warr; his grandchildren: Shon (Jeni) Bywater, Stacy (Rick) Hieb, Erik (Erica) Bywater, Tiffinay (Byron) Hager, Richie (Shannon) Koyle, JC Koyle, Clint (Dani) Koyle, Shane (Sierra) Koyle, Cheyenne Uker (Kyle Miller), Lisa Warr, Leslie Warr, Tammy Warr, David (Britney) Warr, Kellie Warr, and Christopher (Brianna) Warr; 27 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and nieces, Sherry (Greg) Munther, Patricia (Phil) Packer and Marla (Rick) Aldinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dennis Anderson; two sisters, Donna Hilling and Norma Ralls; one son, Randy; a granddaughter, Shannon Bywater; and Tinker, the family dog.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Idaho Home Health & Hospice, and to Melissa, Melinda, Toni and Donna for all the loving care you gave to Ottis. Also, to his granddaughter, Stacy Hieb and grandson, JC Koyle for all the special care they provided.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the Rupert LDS 1st Ward Church, 806 G St., in Rupert, with Bishop Mark D. Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Rupert Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
