Obituary from the Charleston Daily Mail August 24, 1977: John Henry Clay Anderson Sr., 79. of Sutton, died Tuesday in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, after a long illness. He was a retired construction worker and a farmer. Surviving: wife, Elsie: daughters Mrs. Catherine Wooten of Sutton, Mrs. Forence Turner of Altedena, CA, Mrs. Dorothy Wade of Washington, DC.; sons, Richard of Martinsburg, Donald of Washington, DC, Jo of Canton, OH, John of Sutton; sisters, Miss Garnet Johnson, Mrs. Emaline Lacye and Mrs. Clara Ann Lacye of Charleston, Mrs. Marie Sharp of Camden, NJ: brother, Hunkie Johnson of Sulton and Elvin Johnson of Charleston. Service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Stockert-Gibson Funeral Home, Flatwoods with the Rev. George Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Camden Hills Cemetery, Sutton. Friends may call today after 5 p.m at the funeral home.
