Anna C. Anderson
Anna C. Anderson, age 87 was born January 30, 1892 and died December 4, 1989 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital, Durand, WI.

Anna was the daughter of Andrew and Anna (Anderson) Magnuson. She was born and raised in the town of Salem, Pierce County. She attended and graduated from the Salem #4 School, and attended River Falls State Normal School from 1907 to 1909. She taught school in rural schools for eight years in Pierce and Pepin Counties. She married Henry F. Anderson on June 28, 1916 at the family home in the town of Salem. After marriage, they farmed near Lund. Henry passed away in 1971. She has been a resident of the Plum City Care Center for the past 2 2/2 years.

Anna was an active member in Sunday school work for many years. She was active in the Lund Covenant Church, Moravian Church and the Ella Church. She was a member of the Calvary Covenant Church in Stockholm. She was active in community work such as 4-H leader, local newspaper correspondent, Red Cross, agriculture and population census, Cancer and Heart Associations, March of Dimes, and other benefits. She was a rural Sunday school superintendent, leader teach and treasurer, and a teach at the Vacation Bible School. She helped with church music at the Hartland Methodist Church and the Ella Church. She served in different offices for several years in the Pierce County Sunday School Association.

Anna is survived by 1 son, James Anderson o Minneapolis, MN; 1 daughter, Evelyn Christenson of Ellsworth; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Lydia Nordgard of Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death, besides her husband, by 2 sons, Neil and Lyle.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 7, 1989 at the Calvary Covenant Church, Stockholm, WI. Rev. Eldor Langager will officiate. Burial will be in the Lund Covenant Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Rhiel Funeral Home, Durand.
