He worked in the casting dept. at Howell Metal in New Market. He attended Grace Mennonite Fellowship Church in Lacey Spring.
On May 20, 1978, he married the former Margaret Perron, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Andy Anderson and wife, jennifer, of Broadway; one daughter, Jenny Anderson of Giles County, Va.; one brother, Renny Anderson and wife, Debbie, of North Carolina; one granddaughter, Brianne Anderson; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Helsley of Edinburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
His son, Spc. Brian "Bucky" Anderson, preceded him in death.
Pastors Richard Early and Mark Landis will conduct a funeral service 11 am Monday at Grace Mennonite Fellowship Church. Burial will be in Linville Creek Cemetery in Broadway.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. The casket will be closed.
