Charlie Allen Anderson departed this earth on Monday, June 22, 2015 in Dover, Delaware.
He was born on June 22, 1934 to the late Sandy and Maggie Allen Anderson. Born the youngest of 12 siblings, he was predeceased by all of his siblings including sisters: Mildred Rush, Audrey Gray, Adele Smith, Lillian Thurston, Alice Johnson, Sally Anderson and brothers: Robert Lee, Calvin Coolidge, James (Jimmy), William (Bill), and Earl Anderson. He was also predeceased by his (oldest) son, Charles D. Anderson and (middle) daughter, Faye C. Clark of Plainfield, NJ.
He was raised in (Chestnut Grove) Esmont, Virginia and attended The Virginia Public School System. Charlie met and married Viola M. Carey in Esmont, Virginia. Of this union derived 6 children. They relocated to Plainfield, NJ in the mid 1950’s.
Charlie worked several years at Howard Electric, Plainfield, NJ, John Reynolds Hospital in Berkeley Heights, NJ and Union County Jail, Elizabeth, NJ for many years until he retired from Union County in 2003. He relocated to Dover, Delaware in the early 2000’s.
He loved the great outdoors and such hobbies as hunting, fishing and gardening, he also enjoyed bowling, cooking, singing, antique cars and bricker brack items. He was truly a DIEHARD Dallas Cowboys & Baltimore Orioles fan. He also had a love for flamboyant colors with fashion.
Survivors include his daughters: Robyn McCloud of Plainfield, NJ and Maggie Anderson-Matthews of Dunellen, NJ and step-daughter, Rebecca Anderson of Georgia; Sons: Dennis Anderson (Kim) and Allen Anderson (Tasha); 9 grand children: Shaheed Raimey (Monique) of Plainfield, NJ, Ahmad Raimey (Alicia) of Trenton, NJ, Theodore & Elijah Clark of Plainfield, NJ, Shareef & Kiera Anderson of Charlottesville, VA, Ashley McCloud of Plainfield, NJ, Shawn Anderson of Georgia, Tyshawn, Keyisha, Zaheem Anderson of Plainfield, NJ; 7 great grand children: Ahmiyah, Ny’Kanya Zaniya Raimey of Plainfield, NJ, Koran Rodney, Zariyah Dublin, Brielle & Shaheed Jr. of Plainfield, NJ.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church by the Reverend Dorn H. Lewis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Monday.
