David L. Anderson 1956 ~ 2009
David L. Anderson, adoring husband, perfect father, devoted son and son-in-law, and cherished friend, passed away April 3, 2009 at the age of 52.
Born at Toole Army Depot on October 5, 1956, to Doug and Janet Anderson, he is the eldest of five siblings. Dave was loved and genuinely admired by all those who knew him. Dave married Wendy Giles on April 26, 1979, their marriage was later solemnized in the Bountiful Temple. They were blessed with a daughter, Camille.
A graduate of Utah State University, Dave also earned an MBA from Brigham Young University, was a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and earned a second Masters degree from the Naval War College.
Dave served as a field artillery officer in the United States Army for 25 years, receiving many awards and commendations. This career afforded him unique leadership experiences in numerous locales including Germany, Alaska, Hawaii and the Pentagon -where he served as Executive Officer in the Office of Congressional and Legislative Liaison and was a survivor of the September 11th attack. Dave served as the Post Commander of Fort Greeley, Alaska, and as Garrison Commander of U.S. Army Hawaii.
After retiring as a Colonel, Dave pursued defense consulting in Washington, DC before ultimately managing Boyer Hill Military Housing at Hill AFB and consulting for Chevron Energy Solutions - which allowed he and Wendy to build their dream home in Morgan Valley. He often noted "it just doesn't get any better than this."
A faithful LDS member, Dave served as an Executive Secretary, High Priest Group Leader, and as a Stake High Councilman.
