Albert George "Abbie" Anderson

GALVESTON — Albert George "Abbie" Anderson, 71, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2004, at UTMB Hospital.

Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 24th, at Sacred Heart Church with Father Frank Fabj as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.

The family will receive visitors after 5:00 p.m., Monday, February 23rd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Albert was born to Albert George Anderson, Sr. and Annie Kaiser Anderson on December 25, 1932 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. He was a graduate of Kirwin High School in 1952. He attended St. Edward's University in Austin and was a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont. Albert was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Kirwin Council #787. After college, Mr. Anderson was a teacher, coach, and vocational instructor at several Texas high schools.

He is survived by his daughters, Katy Martinez and husband, Michael, of Austin; Rachel Brewer and husband, Master Sergeant Diron Brewer of Virginia; sons, Matthew Anderson of LaVita, Colorado; James Anderson and wife, Karen, of Santa Fe; stepdaughter, Amy Able and husband, Jody, of LaVita, Colorado; grandchildren: Jessica, Michael, and Matthew Martinez; Adam, Mandy, and Emily Kate Anderson; Michael, Casey, and Mitchel Able; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Adam Anderson, Master Sergeant Diron Brewer, James Anderson, Michale Martinez, Matthew Anderson, and Travis Main.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Ellis Williamson, Ermine S. MacBeth, Vernon "Skeets" Satterly, and Dave Garza.
