COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Billy (Bill) Anderson, 80, of Cookeville will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 5, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Fri., Feb. 4; and from 11 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Anderson died on Wed., Feb. 2, 2005, in NHC Healthcare of Cookeville.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1924, in Putnam County to the late Acy P. and Dealia Augusta Chaffin Anderson.

He was self-employed and was owner of Anderson Grocery for 20 years. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Cookeville Senior Citizens. Mr. Anderson was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

His family includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Bob Freasier of Houston, Texas, and Kimberly and Otto Slater of Maryville; two brothers and sisters-in-law,

Walter and Gladys Anderson of Cookeville, and Everett and Grace Anderson of Zephyr Hills, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Rosella and Ed Smith of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Scott Lefkoff, Savanah Nicole and Samantha Noel Slater; and dear friend, Royce Henry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roger Grady Anderson; six brothers, Clay, Luther, Miles, Dillard, Edgar and Edward Anderson; two sisters, Louella Tallant and Ethel Bruner; and the mother of his children, Marie Ramsey Anderson.

Pallbearers will be nephews: Timmy and Tommy Lee, Ronald, Myron and Eddie Anderson and Wendell Pike.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cookeville Senior Citizens.

Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate at the services.
