Clayton Lavon Anderson, 51, of Decatur, Ga., died Friday at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur.
Mr. Anderson was a 1974 graduate of Greeneville High School, where he was an avid football and basketball player. He attended or graduated ??? Middle Tennessee State University.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Anderson had lived in Decatur for almost 20 years, where he was an employee of Emory University in Georgia and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Decatur.
Survivors include his wife: Eleanor Anderson; three sons: Clayton Anderson Jr. and Randall Anderson, both of the home, and Jeremy Anderson of Greeneville; three daughters: Jocelyn Anderson of the home, LaKisha Anderson of Chicago, Ill., and Celeste Dabbs of Greeneville; two grandsons: Xavier Anderson of Decatur, and Daron James Logon of Chicago; his mother: Lorraine Hardy; nine brothers and four sisters-in-law: Larry J. Anderson of Kingsport, Todd Anderson, John Anderson, Ron and Tina Anderson, and Timmy and Nicole Anderson, all of Greeneville, Michael Story and Clifford and Mary Story of Johnson City, Phil and Crystal Story of Greeneville, and Marty Story of Wilmington, Del.; three sisters and one brother-in-law: Clara Anderson and Rochelle Logon, both of Greeneville, and Rita and Dean Lottahall of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was a son of the late Clayton Story and was preceded in death by three brothers: McDonald Story, Craig Story, and Ronald Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. C.C. Mills will officiate.
Interment will follow in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. A military graveside rite will be conducted by the Greeneville-Greene County Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Hall, Tony Hall, Brent Hall, George Hall, Arnez Price, and Dean Barner.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Rogers Jr., Jimmy Whiteside, Buster Jackson, and friends of the Anderson family
