Carol was born February 7, 1918, in rural Langford, SD to Howard and Ellen (Rapp) Carson. She is described by her family as loving, caring, elegant, forgiving and very dedicated to the work of the church. She touched the lives of children and adults alike. Carol graduated from Black Hills State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. She was a Kindergarten Teacher at Zion Lutheran School for 17 years. Carol was a longtime member of the women's association of AIME and worked with their scholarship program at SDSMT.
She is survived by two daughters, Lois Anderson-Stevens and Elaine Clayborn both of Riverside, CA, one son, Dan Anderson and wife Karen of Grand Haven, MI, two sisters, Hazel Erickson and husband Morton of Langford, SD, Jewel Aeilts of Carthage, IL, three brothers, Dale Carson and wife Lorraine of Sioux Falls, SD, Floyd Carson of Langford, SD, Bruce Carson and wife Gwen of Aberdeen, SD, six grandchildren, and a special "son", Fevzi Aydin and his wife Kate.
She was preceded in death by her son, Paul C. Anderson, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City with a prayer service at 6pm.
Services will be at 10am on Thursday, April 6 at Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City with Pastor Duane Duley and Pastor Thomas Beaverson officiating. Burial will follow at the Black Hawk Cemetery.
