Dewey P. Anderson, 81, of Port Orchard, died at home.

He was born to Dewey and Jean (McHale) Anderson.

He graduated from Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Oregon, in 1940.

He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a long-haul traker for 20 years retiring in 1965.

He is survived by daughter Mary Ann Potts (and husband Daniel) of Port Orchard; and grandchildren Darcy Potts of Alaska, Joan Potts of North Dakota and John Potts of Florida.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter Darla Potts in 1981.

There was a private funeral.

Dewey P. Anderson, 81, of Port Orchard died Saturday at his home of Parkinson's disease.
He was born in Eastside, Ore., to Dewey and Joan (McHale) Anderson. He graduated from Marshfield High School in Coos Bay, Ore., in 1940.
Mr. Anderson served in the U.S. Navy. He went on to work as a long haul truck driver out of Coos Bay for 20 years, retiring in 1965. In addition, he was a horse trainer who also was fond of goats and chickens.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
His granddaughter, Darla Potts preceded him in death in 1981.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Potts and her husband, Daniel, of Port Orchard; and three grandchildren, Darcy Potts of Alaska, Joan Potts of North Dakota and John Potts of Florida
