Chuck passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006 at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker MT.

Chuck was born on August 6, 1948 the son of Eldon James and Roberta May (Griffin) Anderson at The Dalles, OR. He grew up and attended elementary and high school in Condon, OR graduating in 1966. Chuck attended Central Oregon Community College in Bend, OR where he received his degree in Natural Resources. He enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. After the service, Chuck returned to John Day, OR where he began working for the US Forest Service in range management. In 1980, he was transferred to Joseph, OR where he remained until 1993. He enjoyed working in the field with his pack string of mules and going down to the River (his name for the Snake River). After his retirement in 1993, Chuck purchased a ranch in Baker City, OR where he fulfilled a lifelong goal of raising cattle and horses. While living in Baker City, he met Kathleen Foster and they were united in marriage on May 4, 2001. In 2002 they purchased a ranch south of Plevna where they have made their home since. Chuck always enjoyed being outdoors especially in the Hells Canyon area and being around the wildlife. He was passionate about his family and took pride in everything he did. He instilled in his daughters, a great respect of life and love. He held a special dedication for his grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife, Kathleen, Plevna; two daughters, Mandie (Ian) Reed, Harlowton, MT and Paddie (Michael) Cape, Amity, OR; his mother, Roberta Williams, Culver, OR; two step-sons, Chad (Kristy) Oster, Bigfork, MT and Collin Cruickshank, Eugene, OR; a step-daughter, Andrea Cruickshank, Shreveport, LA; five grandchildren: Riley & Eric Reed, Abigail Cape, Colton & Kyler Oster; a brother, Kevin (Renee-Vaughan) Anderson, Bend, OR, and a sister, Susan (Rick) Cornett, Moses Lake, WA.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eldon.

Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker City OR.
