MORGAN, Shirley of Tucson, formerly of Kalamazoo, MI., passed away August 12, 2008. She was born in 1918, daughter of Oren and Grace Anderson of Lapel, IN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, friend, artist and accomplished musician. Through her 90 years here on earth, Shirley left her encouraging influence everywhere she went, with whom she met, and in whatever she did.
She grew up in Indiana, attended Purdue University, majoring in Home Economics. It was there she met the love of her life, Ralph E. Morgan. This year on August the 6th they celebrated their 70th year of marriage. The greatest loves in her life were her husband, her family and being able to help others. Her wonderful creative talents were expressed through the joy she had in her art work and music as a teacher of piano, church organist and bell choir director. She also enjoyed nature and was an avid gardener.
Shirley was preceded in death by her infant son John David, daughter Ruth Jean, son Timothy James and her sister Doris Clark.
She is survived by her husband Ralph E.; son, Thomas D. (Sharon); daughter-in-law, Julia (Timothy); son, Parham V, and son, Payam V.; sister, Norma Musselman, and brother, John Anderson, eight grandsons and 19 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway, on September 13, 2008 at 1100 A.M. Memorial Donations may be made to Catalina United Methodist Church, 85716. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, DODGE CHAPEL, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd.
