Fred C. "Slim" Anderson of Belgrade, Missouri departed this life on July 12, 2010 having reached the age of eighty four years, eight months. He was born on November 12, 1925 at LaGrange, Illinois a son to the late Ernest Wentz and Ruth (Allgaier) Anderson and step father Harley Anderson.
Fred served in the United States Army and received the World War II Victory Medal.
On November 12, 1977, Fred was united in marriage to Patsy Halter Hahn and they shared thirty three years together.
In addition to his parents and step father Harley Anderson, Fred was preceded in death by a sister Carole Capps.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Patsy Anderson of Belgrade; son Joey Anderson and wife Cecilia of Cape Girardeau; sister Bonnie Mobley and husband Bob of Arnold; brother in law David Capps of Belgrade; grandchildren Shannon Anderson and wife Stephanie of Cape Girardeau; Brandon Anderson of Cape Girardeau; three step children; eight step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; three nephews; many other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11 AM at the DeClue Family Chapel with Rev. Brenda West officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Shannon Anderson, Brandon Anderson, Andrew Hahn, Russell Gadberry, Dylan Gadberry and Zach Grojean.
Interment and final prayers were held at Benton Catholic Cemetery, Benton, Missouri with full Military Honors including Flag folding, firing squad and Taps. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Family Funeral Home.
