The funeral service for Mae Mildred Frohling, 85, of Aberdeen and formerly of Hecla, will be 10:30am, Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Pastor Craig Grams officiating. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Lord called Mae to walk with Him in her heavenly home on Friday November 30, 2012 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor.

Visitation will be from 1-7pm with family present from 5-7pm with a prayer service at 7pm, Monday December 3, 2012 at Spitzer Miller Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen.

Mae Mildred Anderson was born on August 17, 1927 to Arvid and Ida (Jumisko) Anderson in Ludden ND. This is the area where she grew up and attended school.
Walter Frohling stole Mae's heart, and the two were united in marriage on the family farm in Hecla SD on October 28, 1945. The family settled in Liberty Township. Seven children were added to this union.

Mae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was well liked for her gentle spirit. Mae was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she served on the ladies aid, and then Our Savior Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. She served as Treasurer of the James Valley Threshing Association for many years. Mae also worked at Frohling's Jack & Jill before retiring and moving to Hecla.

When her children were younger, Saturday nights were spent at Mae's parents with family enjoying Finnish saunas. Mae enjoyed playing cards, bowling, family gatherings, sewing, crafting, baking, gardening, crocheting and quilting.

Grateful for having shared Mae's life are her children, Phyllis Hochhalter, Brighton, CO; Betty (Ward) Gilchrist, Aberdeen; Jerry (Margie) Frohling, Valparaiso, IN; Renee (Barry) Idler, Aberdeen; Deborah (Skip) Klapperich, Aberdeen; Tamara (Bob) Schweigert, Aberdeen; Terry (Wendy) Frohling, Hecla, SD; sister-in-laws, Louise Babb, Valera Dusel, Regina Frohling; brother-in law, Ernest "Bud" (Elaine) Frohling, thirteen grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and sixteen step-great-grandchildren, Hanky Martilla and four surviving cousins, Helen Annonen, Margene Hill, Irving Anderson and Ellen Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Frohling, parents, Arvid and Ida Anderson, grandchildren Michael Hochhalter and Robyn Peterson, sister Lillian (Frank) Vojkuvka, brothers, Marvin Anderson, Leonard (Evelyn) Anderson, Frank (Mary Ann) Anderson and Jerry Anderson, and sister in law Geneva Anderson.
