Heart Ailment Is Fatal to Rose W. Anderson
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Afton First Ward Chapel, with Counselor Kay L. Robinson conducting for Rose Walton Anderson, 58, who died Monday, March 5, 1973 of a heart ailment at the Star Valley LDS Hospital. Burial was in the Afton Cemetery.
She was born Feb 13, 1915 at Auburn, Wyo to Henry C. and Lillian L. Hyde Walton. Her mother died when she was three months old and Rose was raised by her maternal grandparents, who moved to Rupert, Idaho when she was three years old. She attended school in Rupert and graduated from high school there in 1938..
She was married to Robert M. Civils in 1935 and an infant son born to them died at birth. Robert died in 1953, and Rose married Ollie C. Anderson of Afton Nov 19, 1955.
Rose worked as an operator for the Telephone Company for two and a half years after graduating from high school. After returning to Star Valley, she worked in the Star Valley State Bank until her health began to fail.
She was active in the LDS Church, serving as a Bee Hive teacher int he YWMIA in Rupert and with her husband as a home teacher in Afton. She was a diligent genealogical worker.
She is survived by her husband, Ollie; a stepmother Mrs Henry C. Walton, Afton; and two sisters, Mrs Carlyle (Leona) Hyde, Afton; and Mrs Forest (Leota) Holladay, Green River.
