He was born May 8, 1924 in Proctor, W.Va., the son of the late Franklin and Ora Burton Anderson.
He was a retired equipment operator with the City of New Martinsville Street Department; a member of the VFW Post 4634 of New Martinsville; a U.S. Army veteran of WWII; and a Christian by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin Junior, Floyd Ray and Clarence Delbert Anderson; and a sister, Pearl Mae Heinzman Hauff.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Hohman Anderson; two nephews, whom they raised, Steven (Pam) Anderson of Ravenna, Ohio and Ed Anderson of Walterboro, S.C.; two nieces, whom they also raised, Linda Anderson of New Martinsville and Barbara (Kevin) Bartholomew of Columbus, Ohio; six nephews, Ronnie (Marty) Heinzman and Robert Heinzman, both of Ohio, Gary Anderson of S.C., Mike Anderson of Alabama, Ronnie Anderson of Fla. and Frank (Rhonda) Anderson of Minn.; three nieces, Janet (Steve) McPeek and Rose Anderson Keele, both of Ohio and Connie (Brad) Burrough of W.Va.; three sisters-in-law, Eve Anderson of Fla., Nonnie Anderson of New Martinsville and Sachiko Anderson of Ohio; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Fr. Steve Vallelonga officiating.
Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville.
