Madolyn Robinson Anderson, 89, of Ohio died Tuesday November 30, 2010 at Marietta Care and Rehabilitation Center, OH after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Jackson County the daughter of the late Rubin and Nellie Sparr Pickens.

Madolyn graduated from the Mark Beauty Academy in Huntington, WV and owned her own beauty shop by the age of eighteen, Madolyn's Beauty Nook, in North Parkersburg, WV. During World War II she moved to Long Beach, CA, where her husband was stationed in the Navy. She was a member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

Madolyn is survived by her husband Robert Anderson of Vienna, WV; three daughters Marilyn Ludwig (Ron) of Parkersburg, WV, Charrel Shumanis of Potomac, MD, and Garnet Robinson, of San Antonio, TX; three step children Jennifer, David, and Susan Anderson; four grandchildren David Shumanis (Lori) of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Nichole Rowles (Ken) of Wynnewood, PA, Angie Walton (Nathan) of Parkersburg, and Dean Ludwig of Winston Salem, NC; a step granddaughter Tiffany Holecher (David); four great grandchildren Emmalie, Sara, Bryn, and Luke; three step great grandchildren Mary Lou, Samantha, and Victor; three sisters Irene Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, and Frances "Fannie" Boone and Leona "Brownie" Moore both of Parkersburg, WV; a brother Gene Pickens of Wilmington, NC; and a brother-in-law Harold Robinson (Nancy) of Vienna, WV.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Charles Robinson; three sisters Elizabeth Johnson, Beulah Reynolds, and Buryl Conant; and two brothers Arthur and Andrew Pickens.

The services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday morning at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Brian Long officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be Friday afternoon 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, WV and one hour prior to the service at the church.
