Services for Vernon J. Anderson of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Des Moines, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Pierce Brothers Mortuary in Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. Anderson died of cancer Saturday at a Los Angeles, Calif., hospital after a lengthy illness.
He attended Des Moines grade schools and high schools, graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City and worked for five years in the advertising department of The Des Moines Register and Tribune before serving in World War II.
For the past several years he had been a West Coast advertising representative for various Cowles publications, including Look and Family Circle.
Survivors include a son, of Riverside, Calif., a brother, Dr. Ernest Anderson of La Jolla, Calif., and two granddaughters.
