HOLLIS RAY "DADDY HOLLIS" ANDERSON, 86, of Paris, passed from this life on Sunday January 8, 2012 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Graveside rites will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 11, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery, with his nephew Rev. Charles Hignight officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Hollis was born July 22, 1925 in Delta County, a son of Nick and Maggie Newkirk Anderson. He attended Lamar County schools, and retired as a welder with Babcock and Wilcox in Paris.
He married Wilma L. Brown, who died in 1984, then later married Doris Neldene Lancaster, who also preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by his only daughter, Barbara Darlene Weaver; by two brothers, Howard James Anderson and Tommy Joe Anderson; by two sisters, Bobbie, Ruth Washington and Patsy Ruth Mayhugh; and a great-grandson, Sol Cuevas.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Laura Vaughn, of Arthur City, Eddie Ray Weaver, Brandi Oneal, and Tracy Weaver, all of Paris; a brother, Teddy Wayne Anderson, of Paris; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
