Richard "Pete" Anderson, age 71, went home to be with the Lord April 29, 2008, at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was born to the late Dewey and Phyllis Anderson in Yazoo County, Pickens, Miss. Mr. Anderson moved to Oak Ridge in the early '50s where he was employed at Queen City Railroads. He enjoyed working on cars.
Preceded in death by: his parents, Phyllis and Dewey Anderson; sisters, Alice B. Davis and Fannie Ball; brothers, William, Dewey and Woodrow Anderson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: very devoted wife, Robbie Anderson; sons, Richard (Ursule) Whitt and Terrell (Stacy) Avery; daughter, Carnell (Lee) Henderson and Catherine (Sonny) Gipson; stepsons, Danny Whitt and Ronnie (Deborah) Scott; stepdaughters, Ann (Johnny) Dowdell, Lois Whitt, Irene Williams; sister-in-law, Vera Anderson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, Solway, Tenn., from 1 until 2 p.m. with service to follow. Elder Darris Waters officiating. Interment at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Family will be gathering at 115 Van Hick Place, phone: (865) 483-4997.
