Christine Kay Anderson, 43, of Ottumwa, passed away peacefully on Dec. 15, 2011, at the Taylor House in Des Moines.
Christine was born on July 31, 1968, to Michael and Sharon Dean in Ottumwa. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1987, and she worked in the bakery at Hy-Vee and Wal-Mart in Ottumwa.
Christine was born four months premature and knew what it meant to fight and persevere. She had survived breast cancer twice before, and this time she again fought a hard and courageous battle to live. She taught us all to smile, laugh and to enjoy life for what it is. Christine loved her family and friends, and loved the Lord. She loved watching football, reading and her cat Drake. She had a beautiful smile and loved to laugh and "find the funny" in all things big and small.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Michael and Sharon Dean; her twin sister, Michelle and her sister Kim(Marty)Smith, all of Ankeny, brother Jim(Julie)Dean of Shreveport, LA.; nieces and nephews Kaitlin and Jacob Smith, and Justin and Jentry Dean.
Christine was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral Services will be 10 am Tuesday at Ankeny Funeral home. Burial to follow in Rock of Ages Cemetery in Winterset. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Monday at the Ankeny Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice.
