Andrew Peter Andersen, son of Hans and Margaret Andersen, was born October 7, 1866, at Flemlose, Denmark, and passed away June 26, 1943, at Superior, Nebr., at the age of 76 years, 8 months and 19 days.

He was baptized July 24, 1867, in the Lutheran church at Flemlose, Denmark and was confirmed in the same church October 3, 1880. He grew to manhood in Denmark and served in the cavalry of the homeland before coming to America. He came to the United States in May, 1889, and settled in Denver, Colorado. He was united in marriage to Anna Marie Knudsen at Denver, September 26, 1896.

To this union five children were born. Three preceded him in death: Margaret in 1920, Marie in 1936, and a son died in infancy. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Marie Andersen; two daughters, Mrs. W. Dudley Carter of Kuna, Idaho, and Miss Olga Andersen of Scottsbluff, Nebr.; one grandchild, Lea (sic) Dean Carter of Kuna, Idaho; one brother, and three sisters, in Denmark.

The family lived in Denver, Colorado, until 1905, when they moved to Hardy, Nebraska. In 1906 they moved to a farm north of Cadams, where they lived until December, 1932, when they moved to Superior.

He was a member of the Danish Brotherhood Lodge of Ruskin. He was ill for over a year, and bedfast since March 27, 1943. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 1, at 2:30 at the First Methodist Church of Superior, Rev. B.H. Hart officiating.
