OBITUARY in Daily News (Huntingdon, Pennsylvania) July 28, 1959.
Mrs. Edna Irene Gordon of Morris Township, Alexandria, R.D, died in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital today, Tuesday, July 28, 1959, at 7:15 a.m. She was admitted to the hospital about 4:30 this morning. She had been in her usual health until early last evening.

She was born September 12, 1896, at Warriors Mark, a daughter of Dorsey and Mary (Ickes) Anders. She was married to Jacob Gordon on October 5, 1916, and preceded her in death on January 24, 1951.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Thelma) Allison of Alexandria, R.D. and Miss Irene Gordon, at home. There is one grandchild, Donald Allison. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Effie Horton of Altoona, Charles Anders of Detroit, Mich., Daniel Anders of East Freedom, Roy and Ross Anders of Alexandria, R.D., Mrs. Pauline Porter of Huntingdon, R.D. 3, and Mrs. Mary Keith of Birmingham. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Huntingdon. Mrs. Gordon was empoyed as a cook at Juniata College for the past seven years.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the Grove funeral home at Alexandria. The Rev. Joan Houck will officiate. Interment will be made in the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Thursday.
