Raymond Thomas Anders, 71, died at Pemiscot Memorial Health System in Hayti. He was born November 19, 1924, in Portageville, the son of the late Alma Jesse McAdoo Anders and William Thomas Anders.
He was united in marriage on August 28, 1976, in Wardell, to Geraldine. She survives, of Portageville. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the VFW post 4829. He was a retired captain of a tug boat.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William T. and Alma Anders; one son, Edward Drew Anders; and one brother, James Glenn Anders.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Anders of Portageville; one son, Arthur Dean Anders of San Jose, Calif.; two daughters, Ruth Bryant of Ripley, Tenn., and Robin Jones of Union City, Tenn.; two brothers; four sisters; and five grandchildren.
Services were held February 14, 1999, at 3:00 p.m. at Delisle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dean Wallace officiating.
Delisle Funeral Home was in charge of services.
