Mrs. Bessie Alverda Kinney, sixty-three, lifelong resident of West Hemlock Township, Montour county, died at Berwick Hospital yesterday afternoon after an illness of eight years. She had been a hospital patient for the past nine months.
Born August 8, 1891, in West Hemlock Township, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Harriet Kitchen Ande. She was a member of New Columbia Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, Benjamin Kinney; two daughters, Mrs. Guy W. Heller, Espy, and Mrs. Vincent Pass, Detroit, Mich.; two sons, Mervin Paul, Danville R.D. and Glen Frederick, Bloomsburg R.D.1; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Arnwine and Mrs. Bruce Pursel, Danville R.D.4; Mrs. Harvey Wintersteen, Bloomsburg; Mrs. Bernard Kear, Mt. Joy; one brother, Shuman Ande, Allentown; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services in charge of the Fermier Funeral Home, Danville, will be Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the New Columbia Church with the Rev. Charles Teutel officiating. Interment will be in the New Columbia cemetery.
