Audry Margaret Amyx went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 5 days.
She was born on December 21, 1919, to W. A. R. and Peggy (Beer) Robertson, in Lincolnshire, England. Being a military child, Audrey had the opportunity to live and travel all over the world including: England, Panama, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Colorado, Arizona, California, Texas, Washington D. C., and the Philippines. She married Clyde Hopkins Amyx on April 24, 1943, at Luke AA Field, Yuma, Arizona. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Audrey and Clyde always went to Red River, New Mexico, every year during the summer. She enjoyed her family and her friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Before her eye sight began to fail her, she enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta. Audrey loved animals and after hers sons graduated from high school and went to college, she always had a dog to pamper. Her grandchildren were one of the highlights of her life. She was a Cub Scout den mother, volunteer at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Meals on Wheels, and helped grade school children learn to read. She was a member of Chapter AS of PEO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clyde on August 2, 1979; a sister: Gladys Walker; and a brother: Robbie Robertson.
She is survived by two sons: Clyde H. Amyx II and wife Debra, of Frederick, Oklahoma, and Robert E. Amyx and wife Renee, of Edmond, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: John Scott Amyx and wife Mercedes, of Moore, Oklahoma, Jack C. Amyx, of Houston, Texas, and Derek E. Amyx and wife Sarah, of Yukon, Oklahoma; and one sister: Bettsy Hardaway, of Greenville, South Carolina.
