Wendy O. Amsler, 51, of Pittsburgh, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, following a lengthy illness. Born May 18, 1953, in Brookville, she was the daughter of F. [sic] Wilson and Oleta B. Amsler. She was a graduate of Clarion Area High School and Clarion University. Ms. Amsler went on to complete a specialized course in campus police training at Gettysburg and served as a Clarion University policewoman before moving to the Pittsburgh area. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarion. Surviving are two sisters, Dr. Christine Amsler and husband, Dr. Peter Schmidt, of Lansing, Mich., and Julia M. Amsler and husband, Ken Graybill, of Clarion. Ms. Amsler was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Amsler. Private services were held in the Goble Funeral Home in Clarion. The family requests donations be made to a charity of one's choice.
