Obituary: Doris Elizabeth Amsberry, 93, formerly of Carthage, died Tuesday April 13, 1999 at her home. Doris Paulson was born February 11, 1906 in Carthage. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1924. She attended business school and later worked at the post office. She married Donald Amsberry on August 6, 1928 in Huron. She worked at the Carthage Bank for many years. Her husband died on April 29, 1976. She then moved to McAllen. She was a member of the Eastern Star and United Church in Carthage. Survivors include one brother, George, of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews. Services begin at 2pm Saturday at the United Church of Christ in Carthage, with burial in Pleasant View cemetery in Carthage. Visitation will be from noon to 9pm today and 9am to noon Saturday at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services at the church.
