SALISBURY - Mr. Bobby Glenn Amos, 73, of Salisbury died Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Laurels of Salisbury.
Born Feb. 11, 1934 in Rutherford Co., he was the son of the late William Van and Mary Etta Boone Amos. Mr. Amos was educated in the Rutherford Co. schools and was a veteran of the US Marines. He was employed for Rowan Industries, Rockwell before retiring and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Jim, Luther, Don, Lester and Vernon Amos and one sister, Ethel Amos.
Survivors include his wife, Bertie Jo Hawkins Amos; son, William Glen Amos and wife Nicole of Faith; daughter, Glenda Vickers and husband Mike of Salisbury; brother, Ronnie Amos and wife Judy; sisters, Vernell Camp and husband Lee and Edith Davis all of Rutherfordton; grandchildren, Harley and Emma Grace Amos, Mysti Harris, Jami Vickers and Matt Harris and great-grandchildren, Brendin and Haley Harris.
Services: 4 p.m. today at St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Rev. David Ridenhour, pastor officiating.
Interment: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutherfordton with Rev. Mike Morrison officiating.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. today at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
